Military Pin-Up Playing Cards
Pin Up style, or pictures of models or actresses whose mass-produced pictures were intended for informal display, i.e. meant to be "pinned-up" on a wall, gained its wide-range popularity during the First World War. For the soldiers, they were a representation of an ideal beautiful woman and symbolized ones waiting for them at home.
This kickstarter playing cards project revives modern pinup and shows the artworks of Ukrainian artist Sviatoslav Pashchuk. Sviatoslav Pashchuk from Agitcom is the creator of these military pin up playing cards. He is a big fan of Gil Elvgren, and makes many illustrations in erotic style, Sviatoslav Pashchuk wanted to make this artwork in a similar style to those of Elvgren's. Sviatoslav Pashchuk did not copy him; of course, - girls on his posters are more discreet and serious, as they represent the Armed Forces.
